New webinar announcement: “We, Displaced Women: Leading the Transformation to Shape Peaceful Green Futures from Gender Justice to Climate Justice”
On the 24th of February, New Women Connectors is hosting a webinar on the intersection of climate change, displacement and gender justice, all of which are pressing issues today, and cannot be treated as distinct matters. Women and girls face disproportionate impacts from climate-driven displacements, exacerbated by limited adaptation policies and structural inequalities. In addition, conflicts deepen the vulnerabilities that women face, such as gender-based violence and the violation of basic human rights.
The webinar will cover the following questions:
What are the intersections between climate change, displacement and gender justice?
Why do the voices of displaced women matter in the pursuit of gender and climate justice?
How are displaced women leading transformative solutions that shape peace and climate justice?
What are some feminist responses and strategies that connect the Global Majority to the Global North that we can bring to the table?
