On December 4, 2024, New Women Connectors headed to Berlin, Germany to participate in the kick-off event of the project Women Solidarity for Building Trust and Resilience in Democracy throughout the EU (W-STAR). The W-STAR project aims to empower women with a history of migration and displacement, enabling them to make their voices heard by relevant policymakers.
The project’s objective is to involve more women with a migration or displacement background in the political processes of the EU. It began in September 2024 and will run for two years. Funded by the European Union’s Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) program, the project is being implemented in four countries—Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Cyprus—by four civil society partners, including New Women Connectors.
The Kick off meeting held exciting keynotes and workshops or World Cafés on the following topics:
– Women’s political participation
– Discrimination and access barriers
– Strategies for building solidarity networks
On the second day of the Kick-off event, a meeting was held with all partner organizations to evaluate the previous day's activities and discuss the overall project, upcoming events, and deliverables.
